As you may have heard, Raditude is the seventh studio album by the band Weezer. Weezer formed in 1992 and was soon widely known for their hit songs such as "Buddy Holly" (a song about looking like the singer Buddy Holly) and "Undone - The Sweater Song" (a song singing about pulling a loose string of a sweater until it comes undone). Their premier and self-titled album, sometimes known as The Blue Album was widely well-received and is a certified triple platinum album. It has become known as one of the highlight albums of the 1990s. Okay. Now that that's established, they've now released a new album 17 years in the future. Somewhere along the lines, Weezer sold out, it would appear. Instead of writing lyrics that are not "lame" such as "you take your car to work; I'll take my board. And when you're out of fuel, I'm still afloat," Weezer are writing about girls, partying, and being a father. Way to be mature, guys. Come on. Who the fuck writes about girls? Are you AC/DC or some shit? No one likes them. No one. Especially the people who give these reviews. God, Rivers. Grow a dick and write about a photograph, about being a rockstar. That's what we want to hear. Not this pussy bullshit.
God. I can't even believe this. The hooks might be some of the best Weezer's ever come up with. The album explores a lot of boundaries of their genre of "geek-rock" and then some. It's completely unheard of to change your sound from album to album or especially song to song. Weezer, hang it up. I give this album a 9/10 stars.
love,
Kyle

Calm down, you'll get your turn!
Okay, so things have been eventful lately to say the least. School started, I got classes, nothing to say there really. School is school. Although, my college English teacher asked if The Lawrence Arms are still together today when he saw my Lawrence Arms shirt. He apparently used to listen to them and other bands from Asian Man Records such as The Broadways (a very close relative to TLA). Interesting. I better get good grades.
My ankle is still killing me. The pain is spreading throughout my heel. That's just wonderful, seeing as how I've finally grown to enjoy running. I really want to be capable of running in Clear Spring next Saturday and for Katie to come 10 miles down the road to watch. That'd be cool, I think. God knows, eh?
Oh, and yes, I did in fact attend a blink-182/Weezer concert last night in Camden, NJ, which is just outside of Philadelphia. Whole bunch of people. Whole lot of money spent getting there and back. Whole lot of money spent on tickets. I'd say the whole trip was probably close to $350. T-shirts were $30 a piece. I, obviously, did not buy one. With all that money I spent, I should have been given a t-shirt. Anyway, here's how the show went: we missed Chester Fench and Taking Back Sunday. Boohoo, we didn't care. We got there just before Weezer went on, though. They came out playing a Black Sabbath song; Pat Wilson on guitar, Josh Freese playing the drums, Rivers Cuomo just singing. Rivers kept saying, "Yessiree, Bob." Then they played some other songs. "Island in the Sun" was particularly cool because it started with Rivers looping drums, tambourine, bass, and acoustic guitar and then singing the first two verses and prechoruses by himself before the entire band came in on the chorus. Very awesome. Here's the set list in the best order I can remember it in.
Oh, and I don't know if it's official yet, but...ehh, fuck it. I shouldn't go sayin' shit like that without consent of people.

Kyle

God really doesn't like me
As I was trying to post a startingly very angry blog yesterday, my internet went out, which just made the end of it even more angry...but I can't post it until I get to my mom's house again when the internet comes back. But I'm definitely going to post and it and I'm going to set the date for last night because that's definitely when I wrote it. So I'll let you know when it's up so you can see just how angry I was getting. I'm still not doing wonderful, but whatever. Last night was not good.
I just finished my finals in first block like 5 minutes ago and now I'm blogging. Crazy what technology has brought us to.
I've been reading reviews on some albums. I'm apparently not crazy, or if I am crazy, I'm at least not alone. I'm not the only one that thinks that all of these new "pop punk" bands are generic and aren't doing anything that The Starting Line and New Found Glory didn't do 8 years ago. That, and they're completely designed for teenaged girls. I guess I don't find them as intolerable as I used to, I just really don't get the big deal about them. I think people should explore music more before deciding that this band they just heard with the catchy single is the best band in the world. Listen to Superdrag, Weezer, Propagandhi, The Hives, or some other band that's ALWAYS amazing. There's a lot more to being a good band than writing catchy singles. Ya know? I don't think that's a stretch to say at all.
Oh, and to the next band that names themselves "We Are...," the word following should be "Poseurs."

Kyle
